Sumian lavender is a subspecies of Lavandin, which is found more and more rarely.

It is distinguished from other lavandins by its higher content of linalool and borneol. Its characteristic smell is camphorated, fresh and herbaceous.

Resulting from the crossing between the fine lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and the lavender aspic (Lavandula Latifolia spica), the lavandin is the variety of lavender most cultivated in the world. It is used in aromatherapy by local application to relieve muscular pains, or for its antimicrobial, soothing and antiseptic virtues. Atmospherically, its relaxing virtues are used against stress, anxiety and sleep disorders.
